Carey Mulligan Is A Sensible Person

 Carey Mulligan Is A Sensible Person

I think Carey Mulligan is gorgeous, so it’s kind of funny to hear that she doesn’t consider herself sexy, but that’s exactly what the ‘Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” actress told Britain’s Elle Magazine.
“I’ve never felt like a sexy person… I’ve always felt like a sensible person. I’ve always felt absurd wearing anything revealing.”

She also went on to say that the Hollywood trend of looking a ‘certain way’ isn’t for her;
“I’ve always felt different here. I remember going up for auditions, walking into rooms of girls in denim minis, with cut off tank tops, tanned legs, long hair and manicures, thinking, ‘Erm…’ But it never made me feel bad. I’ve never felt pressure to look like that.”
“I’m not trying to sell myself as a visual. I’m selling my willingness to play a part really well. If your body doesn’t look normal, how can you convey normal people, how can you be relatable?”
It’s so refreshing to hear a young actress say that! I love that she’s more concerned about her work than how she looks! Wouldn’t it be nice if we embraced that attitude a little bit more in Hollywood?

Carey Mulligan Saved Keira Knightley From Retirement

 Carey Mulligan Saved Keira Knightley From Retirement

It’s hard to think of someone retiring at the age of 22, but that’s how old Keira Knightley was when she contemplated retiring from acting. Knightley spoke to British Vogue and said;
“I wasn’t enjoying what I was doing and I felt terribly guilty about that.
“I remember hating the idea that I was in a privileged position and couldn’t see the point of any of it.
“I had worked solidly since I was 16, till 22, and I had not been on holiday in all of that time.”

Fearing that she might have missed out on a ‘normal’ life, the now 25 year old actress thought about finding a new job, until the opportunity to work with Carey Mulligan on ‘Never Let Me Go’ presented itself;
“I didn’t know if I was going to go back to acting at all. I think for a long time I thought I wouldn’t. I think I intended not to work again.”
“Carey’s a very good friend of mine and I felt if I was to start making films again, she was someone who would watch my back.”
Well working from 16 years old to 22 years old without a vacation is a long time, but I think that she’s pretty fortunate with what she gets to do for work. Not sure if I would be complaining about it!

Carey Mulligan's Hollywood Award Gala Night

Carey Mulligan's Hollywood Award Gala Night

Kicking off her week with an evening out, Carey Mulligan was spotted at the 14th Annual Hollywood Awards Gala last night (October 25).

The “An Education” actress looked lovely as she presented the Breakthrough Actor Award to Andrew Garfield for his work on “The Social Network.”

Later on, Carey headed over to the Chateau Marmont, picking up a mystery male as she rode off in a taxi cab.

Ms. Mulligan is rumored to be staying in a Best Western hotel after reports that she split up with beau Shia LaBeouf. (Hollywood Gossip)
